Bearing In Mind When Using Drugs

With conscious choice, by chance, with evil conclusion of certain events or person(s) one becomes a narcotic drug user.

It is a paradox that drug users’ responsibility towards society, family and law is tremendously higher than those of non-users.

    • Drug users are in constant conflict with the law, as the latter prohibits procurement and storage of illegally imported narcotic drugs or legally available though used for non-medical purposes;
    • Drug users are in constant conflict with society as s/he represents a threat for the society until the cost of narcotic substances is higher than the cigarette cost;
    • Drug users are in constant conflict with their families as it is very hard to watch a family member being inebriated of narcotics and know that s/he refused potential future personal and professional development, hopes and goals by being deficient of this fact.
    • Drug users are in constant conflict with themselves from the moment when s/he understands that it is beyond his/her capacity and control to stop drug dependency whenever s/he decides and wants to.

In addition, there is a responsibility over the health of oneself and close relatives – a consideration what every single person should bear in mind. Past centuries gave given a mankind a lot of knowledge and new infections. These are HIV and acute forms of Hepatitis. It is a common knowledge that injection drug users are the major source of spread of these infections and represent the risk factor groups for sexually transmitted diseases (STD). Probability of acquiring these additional infections is high for injection drug users.

Every drug user gets to a point when his/her desire of getting rid of drug dependency is tremendous. Is it worthed to get back to sober life with such diseases? Is it worthed to have diseased child or refuse having a child? Is it worthed to become a reason of contamination of one’s close relative or a friend?

If you are not infected with sexually transmitted infections or diseases (STI/STD), never share a syringe or a jar. Your friend may not know that s/he is infected and may contaminate you too. If you are already infected, do not share syringe or a jar still. During sexual intercourse use condoms – otherwise you may infect your partner!

Do not dispose a used syringe in the street, as small children may play with it and get infected.

Know all the hygiene norms to protect your close relatives and the society.
